LUST LIST: Sex and the City Par-Tea

For anyone looking for the perfect afternoon treat for you and your bestest girl friends, look no further! I have found something that screams decadence.

I realise that despite having seen Sex and the City 2 more than once now, I have yet to say much on the subject. If you watch the TV series and films and dream of being one of the girls, why not head to The Churchill, Hyatt Regency London where they have created the ultimate afternoon tea for all SATC fans.

The so-called “Sex and the City Par-Tea” has been created with all four of the Sex and the City girls in mind. The “Par-Tea” includes an inspired afternoon tea, with the option to include tickets to a showing of SATC 2 at the newly refurbished and stylish Everyman Baker Street cinema. Guests who choose this option, will also enjoy a chauffeur-driven one-way trip from the hotel to the cinema.

According to the website: The savoury dishes on the afternoon tea menu were inspired by the city of New York and include pastrami on rye, and mini New York bagels with smoked salmon and cream cheese. Mini burgers (named after Jack Berger, one of Carrie’s boyfriends) and mini New York hot dogs with a light drizzle of mustard add a little Manhattan glamour to the tea. On the sweet end of the spectrum, a selection of mini pastries was created with each of the girls in mind. For Carrie, a strawberry-flavoured chocolate pink stiletto; for Charlotte, a mini pink strawberry cupcake (which she is seen making in the upcoming film); for Samantha an appletini jelly in a mini martini glass; and, finally, for Miranda, her favourite diet food, mini glazed doughnuts! In recognition of the girls love of cocktails, the afternoon tea will of course be accompanied by one of the girl’s favourite cocktails, with a choice of: a Cosmopolitan, a Manhattan, a Flirtini (champagne, vodka and pineapple juice) or a classic Martini with an olive! Guests can also choose from a fine selection of teas that have been highlighted for each of the girls: For Carrie, 2007 Organic Silver Needle White Tea: Light, delicate quenching flavours underpinned by cucumber and melon freshness yet surprisingly full textured with a satisfying velvety finish. For Samantha a Flower Osmanthus, an explosion of variegated green tea leaves out of the heart of which unfolds the flame-coloured petals of the osmanthus. The taste is a warm, green-tea sappiness which is lent complexity by some peachy and toasty notes. For Charlotte the traditional Sapphire Earl Grey, refreshing and bright, with lifted citrus charm freshening the structured tenacity of the Ceylon leaf base – a perfectly focused classic and finally for Miranda; Darjeeling 2nd Flush; sprightly, lively, sappy and refreshing, with an enticing combination of fresh grass, plant sap and woodland earth – complex, broad finish with some grip.

The “Sex and the City Par-Tea” will be served every day between 3:00pm and 6:00pm from Friday 28 May to Tuesday 31 August 2010. This special afternoon tea is available at £39 per person and the parties of up to 6 people are available. “Sex and the City Par-Tea” including a ticket to see SATC 2 at the Everyman Baker Street cinema and a chauffeur-driven car to the cinema is priced at £55 per person, subject to availability. All reservations for the “Sex and the City Par-Tea” must be made in advance; credit card details will be taken for confirmation. For reservations please call +44 20 7299 2037 or email: montagu.hrlondon@hyatt.com.
